Your furniture has been sealed and top coated in The Wood Connection Factory, using pre-catalyzed lacquer. Here are some tips to keep your furniture looking great for many years to come.
NEVER use glass cleaners on finished furniture. Ammonia will chemically attack the lacquer.
NEVER allow liquids of any kind to remain in decorative route lines or on the top of the table for extended periods of time. Absorption causes wood to warp and finishes to de-laminate.
To Prevent Marking – Do not write directly on surface. (Especially pine)
To Prevent Fading – Do not place in direct sunlight.
To Prevent Discoloring – Do not use rubber-based placemats… use cloth instead.
To Prevent Yellowing – Do not use commercial waxes and polishes. (e.g. Old English, Pledge etc.)
To Prevent Damage to the Finish – Do not place hot casserole dishes, kettles, pots, etc. on surface.
To Prevent Splitting – Maintain even humidity conditions in your home.
To Touch Up – Purchase “Minwax” brand pens – (Dab directly on surface needing touch up.)
To Clean – Simply use a soft cloth moistened in lemon oil polish or lukewarm mild soap and water and then buff with a dry clean cloth. (Orange Oil or Orange Glo are both good products.)
